2024 Design Assistant/Flower Farmer
Hello! Thank you for your interest! The Modern West Floral Co. Design Assistant/Flower Farmer position is a seasonal/part time paid position that will assist the lead flower designer with florals for weddings and events. They will be prepping vessels and containers, assembling flower mechanics, creating centerpieces, arrangements and personal florals. They are also required to have the ability and desire to harvest cut flowers in the early mornings, weeding, planting and maintaining the flower farm and processing flowers. We are looking for someone who is very attentive to detail, works quickly and efficiently, who can also transition and do farm tasks as needed, is punctual and reliable and has a positive attitude. The Design Assistant/Flower Farmer position will be working at MWFC’s small flower farm in Silt, CO. They are responsible for their own transportation, lunch, water, and proper attire - tools will be provided. Please see more information below:
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is for someone who loves detail within efficiency and working with their hands in a fast paced independent environment:
Harvesting of cut flowers
Conditioning of cut flowers
Processing of ordered flowers
Preparing vessels and mechanics for weddings and events.
Cleaning and sanitizing 5 gallon buckets and other vessels.
Assembling of event arrangements.
Availability on Saturdays for event setup.
General cleanliness, organization of farm and studio.
Weeding, sowing, transplanting and general farm tasks for a ¼ acre cut flower farm - if needed.
Commitment - 2-4 days a week anywhere from 8-32 hours total in the week. Starting late May -mid October.
Pay - $16-$22/hour depending on experience and ability. Opportunity to earn more as you gain experience and expertise.
Opportunity to become a full time position and/or continue into the next season.
